Welsh Stories - March
MARCH AB MEIRCHION was lord of Castellmarch, in Lleyn. He ruled over leagues of rich land, tilled by hundreds of willing and obedient vassals. He had great possessions, fleet horses, greyhounds, hawks; countless black cattle and sheep, and a great herd of swine. (But few possessed pigs at that time, and their flesh was esteemed better than the flesh of oxen. Arthur himself sought to have one of March's sows.).

Escape into the Park

Wales's biggest dance festival is taking place on 14th June in Swansea's Singleton Park. A selection of DJ's from all over the world will be providing entertainment for eleven non-stop hours from 12 noon.

'Rubbish'

Ceredigion Museum will be holding an exhibition on the history of rubbish and recycling from May 3rd to 19th July.

'Our grandparents used all sorts of things more than once and often made new things out of old. During war years people were encouraged to 'make do and mend. Some of these things are still done by many older people today.' Michael Freeman, the curator would like your help - 'In recent weeks there has been a call for all of us plastic bag. We would like to start a collection of plastic bags before they disappear. We would like to collect bags which have local logos or shop names on them. Please bring in good quality examples to the museum.'

Ceredigion Museum would also like to include old aluminium milk bottle tops in the display. These were collected for recycling until the 1980s and they would be very please to hear of any still lurking in drawers or garages.
